Help a San Diego Mom & Daughter Get Back on Their Feet

My daughter and I are currently experiencing homelessness and living out of our car while I work to get us back into stable housing. I’m creating this page because I have reached a point where I simply cannot do everything on my own, and right now we could truly use the support of our community. My daughter starts school on August 19. She is excited to go back, and one of the things that matters most to me is making sure that what we’re going through doesn’t take away from her childhood, her education, or the things she loves. Right now, our biggest needs are help with back-to-school clothes and shoes, school supplies, meals, gas so I can get her to and from school, laundry and everyday necessities, and temporary housing expenses while I work with local programs to secure stable housing. My daughter would also love the opportunity to participate in activities like gymnastics. Once our immediate needs are covered, I would love to find someone willing to sponsor her participation in an activity so that she can have something positive, fun, and consistent to look forward to. I’m actively working with homeless outreach workers, housing programs, and other resources to get us back into permanent housing. I’m not expecting anyone to solve everything for us. Whether someone can send a meal, purchase an item she needs for school, provide a gift card, contribute toward temporary housing, sponsor an activity, or simply share our page, every bit of support helps us move closer to stability. Most of all, I want my daughter to begin this school year feeling confident, prepared, and supported despite what we’re going through.
