On May 4th the unthinkable happened and we lost our family home of nearly seven years to a house fire that started in our garage. Due to fast winds and dry conditions the fire spread quickly into our kitchen/attic and impacted all areas of our home making it inhabitable and although we are in the early stages of working with our home owners insurance we’ve been told our home is likely “a total loss.” While we wait to find out what our next steps are we are adjusting to the living day to day in a hotel with our three kids, James(12y), Michael(3y), and Nina(9mo) and two dogs (we undoubtedly helped save my husbands life). In addition to added expenses Alex and I have limited paid time off due to recently returning to work from parental leave after welcoming our daughter last year. We’ve received an out pouring amount of messages and love from our family, friends, and community and appreciate everyone’s well wishes, prayers and any support you are looking to provide to us during it’s incredibly difficult time as we try to move forward to rebuild the life we created for ourselves in our family.
