Our family’s world changed very quickly when Roger (affectionately known as “Jolly Roger”) was diagnosed with an aggressive lymphoma and began cancer treatment shortly after. Since then, life has become a new rhythm of treatments, appointments, recovery days and taking things one day at a time. Through all of the uncertainty, we are incredibly grateful for the people who have surrounded Jolly Roger and Mama Sandy, and our entire family, with so much prayer, encouragement and love. So many of you have asked, “How can we help?” We created this page as a simple way to coordinate some of the practical things that can lighten their load during treatment. Meals, groceries, errands, gift cards and other acts of kindness allow our family to spend more of our time and energy caring for Mom and Dad and navigating changes as they come. Because Roger is undergoing chemotherapy and his immune system can become very compromised, please do not visit or drop off food in person if you are sick, have recently been sick, or have been exposed to a contagious illness. Right now, these are the things that would make the biggest practical difference: 🍽️ Meals: Sign up to send a food delivery giftcard or drop off a meal. Frozen, easy-to-reheat, healthy and high-protein meals or snacks are especially helpful. 🛒 Groceries/Household Essentials: Instacart and other gift cards are helpful for keeping groceries and household essentials stocked without adding another errand to the list. 🧹 Weekly Cleaning: We’re arranging professional weekly cleaning to help keep their home clean and sanitized while Roger’s immune system is compromised. You can sponsor a cleaning or contribute any amount via Venmo to Gabi at @Gabrielle-Ferrara.
