Hi everyone! Ellie is scheduled for hip preservation surgery on August 31st at Duke Regional Hospital. She’ll be having a right periacetabular osteotomy and hip arthroscopy to improve the coverage of her hip and repair a torn labrum. Recovery will be a long 6–9 months, with the first 6–8 weeks being especially difficult. Ellie will be on crutches/walker with minimal weight bearing and will need help with cooking, cleaning, lifting, and caring for the kids. Sam will be taking at least 8 weeks off work to care for Ellie and their three children, so they’ll also be facing a significant loss of income during this time. As they prepare for surgery and recovery, meals, and prayers would be a huge blessing to their family. They enjoy pasta, fruit, baked beans, mac and cheese, and chicken, and they have no food allergies. Thank you so much for loving and supporting the family during this difficult time ❤️.
