Words from my sister: “We lost our Dad on Monday 02/17/26 at 1:09am 🤍 the smartest man Ive ever known gained his wings surrounded by his kids and family, showered and sent on with much love and light. I’m still struggling with the fact that this is real life and not a dream I can wake up from.” My dad went into the hospital on Sunday Feb 8 after experiencing flu-like symptoms for a week. At the hospital, he presented with a large stroke, and many small ones onset by an extremely serious blood infection of Staphylococcus Aureus. The infection was all over his body, including in his spinal cord and heart. He had emergency spinal cord surgery, but would not be strong enough for the heart surgery until a couple weeks of being on antibiotics. Unfortunately, his body was too sick to last that long. He was surrounded by all 6 of his children, their partners and his grandchildren, his girlfriend and both ex wives, and his brother and sister in law. There happened to be a Star Wars marathon on TV all day long, and he waited to go until after the Death Star exploded. Iykyk.
