Recovery from Surgery

Burke, VA

Story

This journey all started with a cold foot. It turned into a cold leg. While at Kaiser in Burke my father couldn’t feel sensation and knew something was wrong and asked for help. He was then sent to Fair Oaks hospital. Sadly then he was bounced to the Virginia Center Hospital in Arlington. Now he’s at the Holy Cross hospital and scheduled for surgery on Monday. He has Acute limb ischemia (ALI) is a vascular emergency that occurs when blood flow to a limb suddenly decreases. It's a time-sensitive condition that can lead to limb loss and disability if not treated promptly. ALI is characterized by a sudden drop in blood flow to a limb, usually due to a blockage in an artery. My dad’s health is already bad with his Parkinson's and now this just breaks my heart to see him in pain. I am doing this because I love my parents and even if my mother will never admit it but she needs help too in this time or a struggle. She has been by his side every day. I just want her to be taken care of too.

Special Notes

Finally home and now we are working with a home nurse to get him help. He is moving around (which is good just don’t want him to push himself too hard .)
