On June 1st, I will be undergoing surgery for stage IV endometriosis and adenomyosis after years of chronic pain and ongoing health challenges. During surgery, I will be having a hysterectomy along with excision of endometriosis that has spread across multiple organs. This was not a decision made lightly, and while I am hopeful for improved quality of life, there are still many unknowns going into surgery. The full extent of the procedure will ultimately depend on what is found during surgery, including the possibility of ovarian preservation or bowel resection. At minimum, the procedure will involve five abdominal incisions and a significant recovery period. As we prepare for surgery and recovery, we are also navigating the financial and practical challenges that come with complex medical care. My specialist requires a $2,000 upfront payment that is not covered by insurance, and my husband is currently unemployed while searching for work. Many friends and family have asked how they can support us during this time, so we created this page as a way to coordinate meals, practical help, and recovery support in one place. Whether it’s providing a meal, contributing toward medical expenses, sending a gift card, or simply checking in, every act of support is deeply appreciated. Our goal is to create a little more stability and breathing room during recovery so I can focus fully on healing in the weeks following surgery. Thank you for supporting our family and walking alongside us through this chapter. We are incredibly grateful for the kindness, encouragement, and community surrounding us.
Thank you so much for supporting our family during recovery. As I heal from surgery, easy meals and low-stress evenings will be especially appreciated. A few helpful notes: • We won’t know my personal meal restrictions until after surgery, depending on the repair on my bowel. We will share additional details as soon as we can. • We are grateful for restaurant gift cards, freezer-friendly meals, grocery deliveries, or simple ready-to-heat options. • Please text before visiting, as recovery days and energy levels may vary. • Most importantly, thank you for the kindness, encouragement, and support — it truly means so much to us during this season.
