Rain Never Falls Alone was created to help support Kadence as she navigates a recent diagnosis of Follicular Variant Papillary Thyroid Cancer. After doctors found suspicious thyroid nodules, further testing confirmed that the cancer had already spread into nearby lymph nodes in her neck, including one located dangerously close to her trachea and the nerves that control her vocal cords. Kadence is currently preparing for a total thyroidectomy and extensive lymph node dissection surgery scheduled for June 23rd. Because of where some of the cancerous lymph nodes are located, the surgery carries additional risk and complexity and requires continuous nerve monitoring throughout the procedure to help protect her ability to speak and sing. While this type of cancer is often described as having a “good prognosis,” the reality is that it still comes with major surgery, lifelong medication, ongoing scans/testing, overwhelming expenses, and a tremendous amount of emotional and mental stress. In addition to the emotional toll, this diagnosis has also created significant financial strain. Kadence is currently unemployed and struggling to find work flexible enough to accommodate the growing number of appointments, scans, procedures, and recovery time surrounding treatment. The cost of gas, medical-related expenses, and everyday living needs has become increasingly overwhelming while trying to navigate all of this physically, financially, and mentally. This page exists to help lighten some of that burden through emotional support, fundraising, sharing resources, and helping with everyday needs throughout treatment and recovery. Thank you to everyone showing kindness, random check-ins, encouragement, support, prayers, shares, donations, or simply taking the time to follow along. It truly means more than words can express.
