Rain Never Falls Alone was created to help support Kadence as she navigates a recent diagnosis of Follicular Variant Papillary Thyroid Cancer. After doctors found suspicious thyroid nodules, further testing confirmed cancer and involvement of nearby lymph nodes, including one located near the trachea. Kadence is currently preparing for a total thyroidectomy and lymph node dissection surgery scheduled for June 23rd, with additional treatment still to be determined afterward. Because some of the affected lymph nodes are located near the nerves that control the vocal cords, the surgery carries additional complexity and requires careful nerve monitoring throughout the procedure. While this type of cancer is often described as having a “good prognosis,” the reality is that it still comes with major surgery, lifelong medication, ongoing scans, financial strain, and a tremendous amount of emotional and mental stress. This page exists to help lighten some of that burden through emotional support, fundraising, sharing resources, and helping with everyday needs throughout treatment and recovery.
