Dear NDM Company Families, It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I share the news that Joel Mathews, husband of Melissa Mathews and father of our sweet Avah, passed away this weekend. Our hearts are absolutely broken for Melissa, Avah, Dominic, Alexis, and their entire family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Melissa shared with Shelly this morning that right now, Avah needs her dance family. Dance has been such an important part of Avah’s life, and NDM is a place where she is surrounded by people who know her, love her, and will support her through the days ahead. We are organizing a meal train for the Mathews family to help take one small thing off their plate during this incredibly difficult time. Look for information in GroupMe if you would like to participate. Meals, restaurant or delivery gift cards, or anything that can make everyday life a little easier will be greatly appreciated. More than anything, the studio wants Melissa, Avah, and their family to feel just how much love surrounds them. One of the things I treasure most about NDM is that we are so much more than a dance studio. When one of our families is hurting, we show up for them.
