Post from Cassie 7/15/26- “I've always taken pride in being completely transparent and honest as possible, no matter the subject. For years now I've been fighting some health problems we've been trying to nail down and it seems this isn't the end. On Monday, Jared and I met with a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist where they gave us some not so great news. Our daughter is under the 1st percentile in all of her measurements and has been for 20 weeks or beyond. She is roughly 4 weeks behind where she should be. They classify this as Severe Intrauterine Growth Restriction, and our onset only occurs in roughly 0.4% of all pregnancies. Her placenta is failing, it is currently Absent End Diastolic Flow, meaning she is not getting any of the nutrients to help her survive. The doctor has currently given us a 8% chance of survival with a high likelihood of mortality. We started steroid injections yesterday, and will most likely be admitted to the hospital on Friday for daily monitoring. If her placenta goes into what they call "Reverse Flow" or she fails any of the bio-physical testing they will then take her at that time. Our hope is to keep her in and stable until 33-34 weeks, but the chances are very slim. If she survives birth she will have a NICU fight for an unknown amount of time. She is currently 14oz. Luckily Jared's job was able to find him work in Billings for the next few weeks, so he will be able to stay up here with me. This has just been an extremely stressful time, dealing with my own health complications, HG throughout pregnancy, and now this. We just ask that everyone keeps us in their thoughts and hope for the best outcome with our situation. Life can change so fast, cherish it 🩶 (P.S. she totally has Jared's nose 🥰)”
