Friends and family, Many of you know that James LaRue was diagnosed with stage IV liver cancer this past week. Medically, there are several other complications making things difficult, and things are now moving a bit quicker than we were ready for. Sandra and James's family have rallied around him - travelling from Ft Worth, Houston, and even France. The LaRues are coming in strong and the family is taking things one day at a time as they continue meeting with doctors and navigating treatment plans and next steps. Many of you have reached out asking how you can help support Mr. LaRue and his family during this difficult and overwhelming time. Right now, one of the most helpful things we can do is help lighten the day-to-day load by providing meals and support for the household. If you would like to help, please sign up for a meal slot below. Simple, lighter meals and easy-to-reheat dishes are especially appreciated right now. Gift cards for food delivery or restaurants are also greatly appreciated for days when flexibility is needed most. A few notes: • Please use disposable containers when possible • Contactless porch drop-off is preferred unless otherwise noted • Meals for approximately 4-6 people • Preferred drop-off time: 8:30am breakfast / 7:00pm dinner • Dietary notes: low/no sodium and light on the sugar for James Most importantly, thank you for supporting the LaRue family with your kindness, prayers, and encouragement.
James loves to chat with visitors! Please text first to find out if it's a good time, otherwise contactless porch drop-off is easier. Food that is a little on the lighter side is best for James at this time - but his support network will fuel up on anything! That said - you don't have to go overboard, says Sandra. <3
