David’s cancer treatment journey

Floyds Knobs, IN

Story

David was discharged and came home last Wednesday evening. We are slowly adjusting to our “new normal” — at least for now — as we navigate the next steps in his care. Receiving diagnoses of Stage 4 metastatic Duodenal adenocarcinoma/cancer and Pheochromocytoma, both rare, has been overwhelming, but we are choosing to hold onto hope and stay positive about the road ahead. First, we want to sincerely thank everyone who has prayed for our family, sent cards, meals, messages, or simply checked in on us. The love and kindness our friends and family have shown during this time has carried us more than you know. We are deeply grateful. So many people have asked how they can help, and right now, one of the biggest challenges is keeping life as normal and steady as possible for our children while balancing everything else. Between being a wife, mom, hairstylist, and now caretaker, planning meals and getting dinner on the table has become one of the hardest parts of our day-to-day routine. Any support, prayers, and meals, during this season means more to our family than words can express. Thank you for loving us so well through all of this.

Special Notes

David’s diet restrictions. Liver friendly meals as the cancer has chosen to attack there the most. Lean proteins, no sugar or low sugar, healthy carbs and low sodium.
