Emily and Genna’s Fight Club: A Meal Train to Show Our Support Life took an unexpected turn for Genna and Emily when Emily was diagnosed with breast cancer in mid-April. As they prepare to welcome their baby boy in just a few weeks, they’re also facing the start of Emily’s chemotherapy, which is expected to begin this week or next. The months ahead will bring both joy and challenge, and they’ll need the strength and support of their community more than ever. So, we’re rallying together—welcome to Emily and Genna’s Fight Club. This is our way of standing beside them through every twist and turn. One of the best ways we can help right now is by keeping them well-fed and feeling cared for. We’ve set up a meal calendar to provide: Breakfast on Mondays and dinner on Fridays (Genna’s co-workers are covering Wednesdays.) If you’re able to bring enough for leftovers, that would be especially helpful, giving them a bit more flexibility during busy or tough days. Combined with what their families are doing, this support system will go a long way in lightening their load. Thank you for being part of their village—your kindness means more than you know.
Emily and Genna have no dietary restrictions but Ms. Avery doesn't like spicey food. When you are ready to deliver food, they ask that you just send a text message notifying them when you will be dropping it off. Don't feel like you have to drop off breakfast food in the morning.
