Hay amigos que llegan a tu vida por una temporada, y luego están aquellos que se convierten en familia. Rosario es familia. Conocí a Rosario hace años cuando trabajábamos juntas en Orange Lake Resort. Lo que comenzó como una relación entre compañeras de trabajo rápidamente se convirtió en una amistad. En poco tiempo, pasábamos nuestros días libres juntas, haciendo pijamadas, disfrutando de días de chicas en el centro comercial, arreglándonos las uñas, consintiéndonos en el salón de belleza, cocinando juntas y creando recuerdos que durarían toda la vida. Con el paso de los años, Rosario se convirtió en mucho más que una amiga. Ha sido mi hermana por elección. Cuando sentía que mi mundo se derrumbaba, ella estaba allí. Cuando el trabajo me retenía hasta tarde y necesitaba que alguien recogiera a mi hijo Jacob de la guardería, Rosario nunca dudó en ayudarme. Una y otra vez estuvo presente con amor, lealtad y un apoyo incondicional. Tuve el privilegio de estar presente cuando nació su primera hija y de ayudar a cuidar de Bella mientras crecía. Luego la vida nos llevó por caminos diferentes cuando me mudé a Las Vegas y, aunque perdimos el contacto durante algunos años, cuando volvimos a encontrarnos fue como si simplemente hubiéramos presionado el botón de pausa. I met Rosario years ago when we worked together at Orange Lake Resort. What started as a coworker relationship quickly turned into friendship. Before long, we were spending our days off together, having sleepovers, enjoying girls' days at the mall, getting our nails and beauty treatments done, cooking together, and making memories that would last a lifetime. Over the years, Rosario became much more than a friend. She has been my sister by choice. When my world felt like it was crashing down, she was there. When work kept me late and I needed someone to pick up my son Jacob from daycare, Rosario never hesitated to help. She showed up time and time again with love, loyalty, and unwavering support. I had the privilege of being there when her first daughter was born and helping care for Bella as she grew. Then life took us in different directions when I moved to Las Vegas, and although we lost touch for a few years, when we found each other again it was as if we hit the unpause button. We picked up right where we left off. That's what true friendship looks like. Since reconnecting, I've had the joy of watching my second niece, Aeisha, grow up, and I was excited to celebrate the upcoming arrival of her baby brother, due in January 2027. Pete was a loving spouse, devoted father, and one of the kindest people you could ever meet. He was the type of person who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He had a gift for making people laugh and bringing joy wherever he went. But above all else, Pete loved his children. Now, during this unimaginable and heartbreaking time, it is our turn to show Rosario the same love and support that she has shown so many others. As she navigates grief while continuing to care for her children and prepare to welcome a new baby boy, she needs her village more than ever. People often say it takes a village to raise a child. Today, that village is being called upon to help carry this family through one of the most difficult seasons of their lives. Whether it is providing a meal, helping ease a financial burden, offering prayers, or simply reminding Rosario that she is not alone, every act of kindness matters.
