Story
The mission of Valerie’s House is to help children and families work through the loss of a loved one together and go on to live fulfilling lives. Our vision is that No Child Will Grieve Alone. It’s a safe place for children, teens and adults to work through their feelings with other individuals their age who have experienced something similar. Everything we provide for our families is free of charge. We meet biweekly and provide dinner before each group night. Our families and volunteers enjoy this time together, strengthening their bonds and without the worry of having to cover dinner for the night.
Special Notes
We do not have a kitchen onsite, so all meals must be prepared ahead of time. We accept homemade, restaurant bought, gift cards, pizza delivery, etc. If providing a gift card (thank you!), it usually costs us around $200 to provide dinner for the evening, but we gratefully accept ANY amount! We do have a couple of vegetarians. Food needs to be delivered by 5:30 and you are welcome to stay and meet the families, or just drop off! Thank you for caring for our families!!!
