Our family is facing an unexpected challenge after a devastating accident changed our lives in an instant. A few weeks ago, my husband was involved in a serious accident that left him with multiple fractures, a collapsed lung, and internal bleeding requiring emergency surgery. He spent a week at Harborview Medical Center, including several days in the ICU. Those days were filled with uncertainty as our family navigated medical decisions, long hospital stays, and the emotional weight of seeing a loved one critically injured. Since returning home, his recovery has continued to be a long and difficult journey. His injuries significantly limit his mobility and independence, and he requires ongoing assistance with daily activities, transportation to medical appointments, and recovery-related care. As his primary caregiver, I have stepped away from work for the remainder of the school year to focus on supporting his healing and caring for our children. While we are grateful for the progress he has made and remain hopeful about his recovery, this unexpected situation has created challenges for our family. Managing medical appointments, daily household responsibilities, meals, transportation, childcare, and other day-to-day needs has become overwhelming at times. Many friends, family members, colleagues, and community members have asked how they can help. This page was created as a way to coordinate support for our family during this season. Whether it is providing a meal, helping with errands, offering transportation assistance, supporting our children, or simply keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers, every act of kindness makes a meaningful difference. This experience has reminded us not to take a single day for granted and to appreciate the incredible support of those around us. We are deeply grateful for the love, encouragement, and generosity that our community has already shown. Thank you for walking alongside us as we focus on healing, recovery, and getting our family back on its feet. Your support means more than words can express.
