I am asking for any help for Taylor, Hayley and Brandon. Anyone who knows this family knows Hayley would do anything for anyone, and both Brandon and Hayley have always been heavily involved in cheer for Emma and baseball for Baker. But right now, all focus has shifted to their youngest, Taylor, who is only 3 years old. Taylor has been fighting a stubborn and severe ear infection since August of 2024. Despite months of treatments and multiple rounds of antibiotics, the infection continued to persist and eventually developed into multiple antibiotic-resistant infections. Recently, things escalated and he was admitted to the hospital after becoming sick. Imaging showed the infection had begun to spread behind his middle ear. Thankfully, it was caught in time and had not spread to his bloodstream or brain. He underwent surgery to clean out the infection, and during that surgery it was also discovered that his eardrum had ruptured. Because of how widespread and aggressive the infection is, and the fact that multiple antibiotic-resistant bacteria are involved, doctors now expect a much longer recovery process than originally planned. He is now on IV antibiotics and will require a PICC line, along with at least 4–7 weeks of intensive treatment and close monitoring in the hospital. His care team is working aggressively to treat the infection and ensure he heals fully, but this will be a long road. As hard as it is for his family, who truly hate having to ask for any kind of help, we are asking as part of their baseball family to rally behind them. They are staying by his side day and night, and the financial burden of hospital stays, travel, food, and daily expenses is already quickly adding up. Currently, Hayley has taken off work to stay with Taylor, and Brandon is working while also making sure Emma and Baker’s routines stay as normal as possible between school, sports, and evening visits to Taylor.
