Erin and Jordan Manson received the best Christmas Eve gift they could have imagined when they found out they were expecting their first child. They were overjoyed to begin preparing for life as a family of three. Erin’s pregnancy had been healthy until June 12, when at just 28 weeks pregnant, she was unexpectedly hospitalized with severe preeclampsia. Doctors informed Erin and Jordan that she would need to remain in the hospital for the next 6 weeks, with the hope of safely delivering at 34 weeks. Their expected due date changed from September 3rd to July 23rd. They also learned that their baby boy would need specialized care in the NICU after birth. The news came as a complete shock. The couple had been looking forward to celebrating their baby shower and closing on their first home within the next few weeks. Instead, their lives changed overnight. Since Erin’s hospitalization, she has been unable to work, while Jordan has been balancing work, moving homes, caring for their cat, Kiki, and spending as much time as possible by Erin’s side. Through it all, Erin’s medical team has been carefully managing her condition, and thankfully, their baby boy continues to do well. Erin and Jordan are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, encouragement, and generosity they have received from their family and friends during this unexpected journey. As many people have asked how they can help, they have put together a list of gift cards that will be especially helpful as they prepare for their son’s arrival and navigate his time in the NICU. Thank you from the bottom of their hearts for your kindness, support, and for walking alongside their family during this season. Every thoughtful gesture means more than words can express.
