Support for "Mama Janice" Ilioff after Brent's Passing

Burnsville, MN

Story

Our brother, Brent Ilioff (age 35), passed away on the evening of September 8th. His passing has left us extremely saddened, and we are still processing the weight of this loss after so many hard years. Many have reached out to ask about ways to help. Our focus now is on supporting our mom, Janice Ilioff. She was Brent’s safe place, the one person who never gave up on him. She now faces both an empty house and a heavy heart. In these initial weeks, we want to help ease her daily load so she has the space to rest, tend to her own health, and take care of herself in the months ahead. Through this Give In Kind page, you can help in practical and meaningful ways: Financial support: This is one of the most impactful ways to help. Along with the heartbreak of losing a loved one come many unexpected expenses—everything from household bills to final arrangements and the ongoing costs of keeping up a home. Your contributions will give Janice breathing room and take some of the weight off her shoulders. Gift cards: You can find various gift cards to donate through this site. Physical gift cards may be easiest for her to manage, but any will do. (See Wishlist section on right) Meals: Homemade is wonderful for those who are nearby, but DoorDash and gift cards are a great alternative—and there are no food restrictions. Just knowing she doesn’t have to cook each night will be a big help. Personal connection: Please reach out in whatever way feels best. She is open to calls, emails and letters. Phone: 651-334-6405 Address: 161 Carriage Lane, Burnsville, MN 55306 Email: [email protected] Most of all, Janice has spent years and years focused on Brent, and now she deserves space to rediscover herself beyond being a caregiver. We hope her community surrounds her with a sense of belonging, encouragement, and opportunities to find healing within it. If you are nearby, please feel free to extend invites that might be a way for her to get out of the house. Take her on a walk, a fun fall outing, invite her to a game night, a women's group, or ask if she’d like a buddy to watch a big game. We will find a way to send an update for services when arrangements have been made. Amy lives close by, and has been able to swoop in with the support of her hubby and kids to give immediate support and grandkid distraction. We've included some photos of him with Amy's Kiddos, who had a sweet relationship with their "Uncle Brent." Thank you for being here for her and for all of us. Every contribution or moment of connection is a way of saying to Janice: You are not alone. Thank you for helping us surround her with care and support during this difficult time.
