Help Kate and the Cats

Ozark, MO

Story

Hello everyone, asking for help is new for me, I have always been very independent until a series of events. About six weeks ago I developed a knot under my arm which was extremely painful and continued to grow in size. Shortly after it appeared, I began running a low-grade fever. I have no health insurance. I went to the emergency room at Cox North and was transported by ambulance to Cox South where I underwent surgery to drain a large abscess with four separate internal cavities. It was 4 inches across and 5 inches deep. The cultures were positive for a MRSA (Methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus) infection and I had to stay in the hospital on intravenous antibiotics for five days,.missing work. In an unrelated event, I lost my job last Tuesday as a CNA at a major hospital. I live alone and have no other source of income besides the job I lost. I had no financial cushion to fall back on, and now I am facing being evicted in September which would be a first, and I have no family or friends in the area. I have found a new job that will start August 18th. I need the kindness of others to help with September rent which is $1025, and my immediate need is also food for my four cats. I have an appointment with the food pantry in Ozark on the 22nd, but they do not supply pet food. I would be so thankful for any help that you are willing to provide, either towards rent or towards food for the cats. Thank you! Kate

Special Notes

The cats usually eat a variety of Meow Mix or Friskies, wet and dry food. Anything you can provide would be great!
