On Wednesday, July 15, 2026 Baby Nico (Domenico Lee Mason) suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of an unforeseeable accident. Nico is currently receiving care in the PICU at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He underwent one emergency brain surgery on July 15th. Doctors had to remove part of his skull to reduce the brain swelling. Luckily there was no spinal cord damage. Nico was on a ventilator for a few days. Because of your thoughts and prayers, Nico's ventilator was able to be removed Monday, July 20th. Since being fitted with his helmet, Baby Nico can now be snuggled and is continuing to make leaps and bounds in his recovery. This page was created to update everyone on Nico's recovery and help Caitlin and Jon through this hard time.
Since Nico and his parents are currently spending all their time in the hospital, gift cards for restaurants/deliveries might be the easiest way to support the family. Please no dairy products due to Nico's allergy.
