Felix Slade passed away on August 14, 2025. He died of an overdose: pulmonary edema caused by the multiple drugs in his system. Despite a years-long struggle with addiction and depression, Felix was one week away from matriculating as a freshman at the University of New Hampshire when he died. Like most of us, he held many contradictions. He deeply loved his friends, his brother, his cat, hip hop, gloomy weather, Sour Patch Kids, chemistry, anime, Magic the Gathering, driving his car, chocolate and cheese, and laughing at stupid stuff. He struggled to love himself. We miss him so, so much. We want to thank all of you who have brought us food, sent us gift cards, given us hugs, kept us company, listened to us cry, heard our stories, sent us prayers, and held us in your thoughts these last few months. We're so, so grateful for all your support and love. When it feels like we're swimming in an ocean of grief, your kindness, thoughtfulness, and dark humor keep us afloat. If you know someone struggling with addiction or depression, please speak up. Talk to them and encourage them to get help. And if you're inclined to make a donation in Felix's honor, please consider giving to the following organizations: https://shatterproof.org/ https://dividedsky.org/
