Support Rory’s New Beginning in a New Home

W
Story

Hi, there! I’m Rory and I’m a DeafBlind neurodivergent/AuDHD nonbinary trans woman who has lived a very intriguing and fulfilling life so far, and still living my best damn life… trust me, I’m not done living yet. For the last 20 years since I was 18 years old, I’ve traveled and lived in California, NYC, Chicago, the Pacific Northwest, Colorado, Texas, the Midwest, the South, the New England area, Canada and parts of Europe. Some places I’ve stayed longer than others, and I’d always relocate every 6 months or every 2-4 years depending on my work and where it might take me. My career wasn’t the kind that would allow me to stay in one place for long. But it did allow me to build community connections, lifelong friendships, relationships, etc. and eventually, leading me to find the love of my life that you see in the picture of this page, my partner, my fiancé and soon to be hubby, Corvin. He’s a genderqueer trans masc person and we met 10 years ago in San Francisco. Since then, we’ve built a long term friendship, a strong bond and eventually started dating 3 years ago. He asked for my hand in marriage and we’re now set to be married on October 1st, 2026. However, with this upcoming wedding, we had discussed the idea of finally getting to live together full time rather than visiting each other every 6 months or so, living in two separate homes in both California and Vermont. Well, that’s finally starting to become a reality, as we settled on where we want to move to by April/May 2027: Nevada. Corvin is currently fundraising separately for his own moving expenses to get his stuff and his mother’s stuff moved out to Nevada, while I’m over here on the East Coast packing up the last of my belongings and in need of help with the funding for a moving truck, covering rent/deposits, etc. and making sure that everything is taken care of as we both get settled into our new home together and working on establishing our new locations for the kind of work we do for a living. My birthday is also coming up next month where I’ll be turning 38 years old and I’ll be back in San Francisco with my fiancé Corvin from October 6th to November 12th, since there’s a lot of things I’m doing over there that is work related while also getting ready to host our engagement party together at the Mint Lounge and doing our engagement photo shoot. I’ll then return home on November 12th to proceed with packing up the last of my belongings and getting everything loaded onto a truck. I have a trusted friend who will drive the truck to Nevada with me, and I have a group of people in Nevada who can help me unload my things there, so I’m good on that part. What I really need help with currently is the fundraising for the moving expenses, the truck, etc. while also covering any upcoming expenses during the month of October 2026 when visiting San Francisco and staying there with my fiancé, such as groceries, covering any bills, making sure my rent at the townhouse is paid for and paying for public transit to get around in San Francisco for the full month. I’d also like to have a good birthday this year, hang out with my fiancé and our friends in the community, be able to afford to pay for my friend or someone else to pet sit for my cat at home in Vermont while I’m away and to have her taken care of until I’m back home. I’m diabetic and have specific health issues and dietary needs, so I would appreciate any help and support in making sure that I get the supplies and food I need to continue stabilizing my health, manage my weight loss and avoid any other complications that might arise. There’ll be a wishlist of things my fiancé and I will need for our new home when we move to Nevada in April/May 2027, so any support is greatly appreciated. And finally, thank you all so much for showing up intentionally as a community, for helping us out with the big move to Nevada, for making sure I remain healthy while I have a good birthday this year and ensuring I have everything taken care of with less stress and less worry for a while. I truly do appreciate you all.

Special Notes

— I’m diabetic so I must have GLP-1 friendly meals. — Visiting me while I’m in San Francisco with my fiancé from October 6th to November 12th is fine as long as you have tested negative for COVID, RSV and the flu, have been vaccinated, are willing to wear masks, wash hands, properly social distancing within 6 feet and only be given permission to handshake or fist bump or hug me if I am okay with it. I’m a immunocompromised cancer survivor, so it’s important that I stay safe and healthy. I’m also fully vaccinated. — Visiting my home in Vermont to help make sure my cat is fed and watered every 2-3 days in the event my friend is unable to do this for me is also appreciated. Please do reach out to me if you’re able to help me take care of my cat while I’m in San Francisco from October 6th to November 12th. — Housewarming gifts, getting things we need from the wishlist, making food for us to enjoy in our new home in Nevada, etc. is also appreciated, — Helping my fiancé pack his belongings in San Francisco would help him a lot. — Helping me pack my belongings in Vermont would help me a lot. — Not absolutely required, but if you wanted to send me birthday money, you can do this via CashApp, Venmo or PayPal.
