Love for Erica Mitchell-Hansen supports her cancer journey, specifically as she recovers from life saving surgery. Let's rally around Erica and Jess as a community to lighten their load as they focus on the long road of healing and rehabilitation. Backstory: This summer Erica was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, a Synovial Sarcoma originating from her Femoral Vein. The tumor extended as far as her Inferior Vena Cava. After 4 rounds of chemotherapy and radiation (which she managed like a champ!) and a very extensive surgery, Erica has a long road to recovery and rehabilitation. We don't yet know what this recovery time will look like but she currently needs support in the form of meals (or food delivery service), grocery pick up and drop off and errands. This page will also be used to update Erica's community on her current health and recovery process. We ask that she not receive calls or texts in the coming weeks so she can put all her energy into healing. Please feel free to reach out to Jess for anything immediate or me (Rayna) or her mom (Becky) with any questions. At this time we are ONLY requesting support in the form of meals, household help and errands. Any money donated beyond these needs will go into a fund for Erica to help with medical bills or rehabilitation needs. All forms of community support are important! Positive thoughts, prayers, intentions and healing energy sent her way are very MUCH appreciated. If this is what you can offer at this time, know that it is enough and we are so very grateful! Thank you to all those who love Erica!
Dietary notes: ERICA IS ALLERGIC TO WALNUTS. We are asking that for now meals be dropped off without plans for visitation time. Erica will need to conserve all her energy in the beginning for healing. We will be setting up a drop off system at their front gate (more information to come on this.) Reusable containers might be best but if not possible I will figure out how to get cookware returned to folks! A piece of masking tape applied to cookware with your name and phone number will expedite this task. If you visit please only do so if you are currently well or noncontagious. Be prepared to wear a mask if asked to.
