Anderson's Recovery from Hip Surgery

Austin, TX

W
Story

Hi, y'all! As many of you know, I had a hip replacement back in 2017. It allowed me a lot of pain relief and freedom of movement. That allowed me to dance, bike, walk, and skate. Unfortunately, it has worn out enough that it's been causing me significant pain for a while. I now need a hip revision surgery. The recovery is going to be a bit of a struggle for the first 2 weeks and particularly in the first bit. For the first 3 days the surgeon wants me to have someone around much of the time, including nights. I do remember having some pain situations in the middle of the night last time, so I am asking for a few volunteers to stay overnight one night each if possible. After the first 3 day, I'd really appreciate some help getting meals and some subset of hanging out and helping out around the house. An hour of time and a meal would be super great. (I'm not supposed to bend that leg past 90 degrees at the hip, which makes some daily tasks difficult.) I can't know exactly when I'll be coming home from the hospital, but I'm expecting it will be Friday July 3rd. If you have any questions about the surgery or anything here, please ask, and I'll try to answer.

Special Notes

Red meat and eggplant both give me issues, so please avoid these for food. (Pork is a red meat that is fine.)
