As many of you know Morgan has had a hard year! Since his hospitalization for ARDS last Feb, Morgan has had numerous short and extended hospital stays. Although he amazes everyone with unexpected and quick recoveries and smiles through it all his body is getting tired. Morgan is currently inpatient for his 12th hospital stay this year, and when he comes home will be enrolling in concurrent hospice services (meaning he can both seek curative treatment AND hospice services). The focus of his care will be transitioning to focus more on comfort and quality of life. It has always been Rachel’s goal to provide an amazing life to Morgan rich in love, experiences and opportunity. During these next several months we want Rachel to have the time, space and resources to continue to provide Morgan the amazing quality of life he deserves. Any and all support (big or small) through gifts of time or resources are needed. We will use this platform to let friends and family know specific needs. Let’s rally and make sure Morgan and Rachel can build more memories and have the needed help to be in their home, comfortable and joyous over the next several months. Anticipated needs include: -meals for Rachel 1-2x weekly -grocery runs every few weeks -taking Callie on long walks 1x weekly and letting her out at times Morgan may be in the hospital -help with cleaning/household chores every few weeks -financial assistance (as Morgan's care needs are extensive and it's anticipated that Rachel will need to work reduced hours at times and take some time off as Morgan's health declines) -one time organizational help (to better organize medical equipment) -one time assistance assembling some cabinets -one time assistance putting up room decor for Morgan :) Please feel free to sign up for a task. Give-in-kind does have a way to Venmo, Rachel, or if you prefer to use a secure platform Rachel's fundraising page from is ARDS admission will accept donations.
