Cheryl’s Cancer-Crushing Crusade

Cherry hill, NJ

W
Story

Unexpectedly & recently Cheryl got the devastating news that she has an aggressive form of triple positive HER2+ breast cancer. She has begun the fight of her life and all we know Cheryl is going to persevere, fight hard , and kick breast cancer’s ass! She will be starting chemotherapy as soon as possible , as well as numerous other body scans and tests. As much as we all know Cheryl & her independent personality, she is not one to ask for anything and is ready to take on chemo & everything else with both feet forward. She has already hit the ground running, getting 2nd & third opinions and treatment options at all the “best” cancer centers around. Our Fox Chase team will NOT let her face this alone. #foxchasepride Anything we can do to support her is much appreciated I’m sure—whether it is a simple text, email, donations toward dinners, etc. We all know that the holiday season brings its own set of stressors and expenses so I cannot imagine having a cancer diagnosis in addition. Cheryl is so thankful of her Fox Chase family and thanks everyone for their thoughts, kind words, and prayers. #cherylscrusaders

Special Notes

There is a special chemo hair cap, called a COLD CAP, that Cheryl is looking into getting. They can be very expensive- another added expense during this difficult time. Cold caps and scalp cooling systems are tightly fitting, helmet-like hats filled with a cold gel or liquid that you wear during chemotherapy infusions. These devices have helped many people keep some or quite a bit of their hair when treated with chemotherapy that can cause hair loss. If, instead of donating a meal or gift card, you would like to donate to the purchase of the cold cap, please see the PayPal page I created just for that purpose. https://www.paypal.com/pools/c/8Fg3EYn6EI https://www.breastcancer.org/treatment/side_effects/hair-loss/cold-caps-scalp-cooling
