Supporting Megan & Her Family During an Unexpected Medical Journey

If you know Megan, you know she is one of the most selfless, generous, and compassionate people you'll ever meet. She is always the first to show up for others, offering support, encouragement, and help whenever it's needed. Now it's our turn to show up for her! Over the past 2+ weeks, Megan has been hospitalized after what initially appeared to be pain related to gallstones. What seemed like a straightforward diagnosis quickly became much more complicated when doctors discovered abnormalities involving her bile duct. Since then, she has undergone numerous scans, procedures, biopsies, and the placement of a temporary drain as physicians work to determine the cause. While pathology results have thankfully come back negative for malignancy, her medical team remains concerned about the narrowing and dilation of her bile duct. Because answers remain elusive, plans are now underway to transfer Megan to a tertiary care hospital where more advanced specialists can provide further evaluation and treatment. More testing, procedures, and possibly surgery may still be ahead. Through it all, Megan has shown incredible strength and resilience. Her husband Ryan has remained faithfully by her side every step of the way, advocating for her care while family members help care for their two young children at home. As you can imagine, the emotional, logistical, and financial burdens of this unexpected medical journey are significant. Between hospital stays, specialist care, travel, missed work, childcare needs, and mounting medical expenses, the road ahead remains uncertain. We are hopeful that Megan's doctors will find answers soon and that she will be able to safely move forward with treatment and recovery. We continue to hold onto faith, hope, and the belief that better days are ahead. Many have asked how they can help.
