If you know Carly, you know she is usually the one helping everyone else. She’s the person who shows up, lends a hand, and takes care of the people around her. Now, at just 47 years old, Carly is facing something no one ever expects to hear: pancreatic cancer. Carly has a long road ahead of her. Her treatment plan includes chemotherapy, followed by major Whipple surgery, and then more chemotherapy afterward. It’s going to take strength, determination, a whole lot of love—and knowing Carly, probably a healthy dose of inappropriate humor—to get through it. 💜 Throughout treatment and recovery, Carly will be able to work very little, if at all. While cancer has already demanded enough from her physically and emotionally, it unfortunately doesn't tell the mortgage, utilities, groceries, or everyday bills to take a break. The loss of income during the months ahead will put an additional burden on Carly and her husband at a time when their focus needs to be on one thing: getting Carly healthy. That's where all of us come in. Carly has spent so much of her life being there for other people. Now it's our turn to show up for her. We are raising money to help replace some of the income Carly will lose during chemotherapy, surgery, and recovery and to help ease the everyday financial stress that comes along with a cancer diagnosis.
