Helping Cara Recover

Story

I wanted to share that this Thursday Cara Chamberlain will be undergoing a major neck surgery called a C2–T2 posterior cervical instrumented spinal fusion with C2–C7 laminectomy, medial facetectomy, and foraminotomy. In simple terms, the surgeons will be relieving pressure on my spinal cord and nerves and stabilizing my neck with hardware to help protect my spinal cord and prevent further damage. Because this surgery involves a large portion of her cervical spine, recovery will take time. She will likely be in a neck brace and will have significant restrictions on movement, lifting, and everyday tasks while healing. During the first several weeks after surgery, preparing meals will be very difficult. If you feel led to help, a meal train would be a tremendous blessing and would allow her to focus on healing and recovery. Your prayers, encouragement, and support mean more to her than words can express. God has already strengthened her faith so much through this journey, and she is incredibly grateful for the community He has placed around her. Thank you for walking beside her through this season.
