Michael Thompson is preparing for a laryngectomy on Tuesday June 2, 2026, following years of complications caused by radiation treatment he received during his successful battle with throat cancer approximately 15 years ago. While Michael has thankfully remained cancer-free, the long-term effects of radiation have caused significant damage to his larynx, resulting in difficulty swallowing and limitations with breathing. This surgery is intended to improve both and help restore his quality of life. As Michael begins this recovery journey, his daughter, Jennifer Thompson, will be serving as his primary caregiver. Jennifer is a dedicated member of our church family who faithfully serves as both a nurse and a member of the That.Church Security Team. Jennifer's brother will also be traveling from Kansas to help care for their father during this time.
