The date is set, and I need my village. 🤍 This is one of the hardest things I’ve had to share because asking for help does not come naturally to me. I’m usually the one saying, "I got it. I’ll figure it out." But on October 21, I’ll be having a medically necessary hysterectomy, and this time I have to be honest: I can’t do it all by myself. I’m a single mom and the primary provider for my household, and my recovery is expected to take 6–8 weeks. During that time, I’ll be without income while everyday life and the bills that come with it keeps moving. And even once I’m medically cleared and able to return to work, there will still be a gap before my income resumes. Because of my payroll cycle, I may not receive my first paycheck until approximately 2–3 weeks after returning to work. I’ve set a goal of $10,000 to help bridge this period while I’m recovering and transitioning back to work. This will help cover rent, utilities and household bills, groceries, medical expenses and recovery needs, along with any additional support my family may need while I heal. More than anything, this support gives me something I really need during recovery: the ability to actually rest and let my body heal without waking up every day worried about how I’m going to keep everything afloat. I’ve spent a lot of years being strong, figuring things out, taking care of my family, and showing up for others. Maybe this season is also teaching me how to let my community show up for me. 🤍 If you’re able to give, thank you from the bottom of my heart. No amount is too small. And if giving isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser, sending a meal or groceries, saying a prayer, sending a text, or simply checking in during recovery means more than you know. All of it matters, and I will receive it with deep gratitude. Thank you for being part of my village and helping my family and me walk through this season with a little more peace, support, and room to heal. With love and gratitude, Jessy 🤍 I’ve spent a lot of years being strong, figuring things out, taking care of my family, and showing up for others.
