Mac Strong

Edmond, OK

Story

We’ve been quiet about Mac’s current journey—not because we don’t want to share, but because we’ve been scared. Back in May, we started noticing neurological changes in Mac, and over the past five months those symptoms have continued to progress. We’ve met with countless specialists and assembled a long list of providers, yet the most consistent answer we’ve heard has been, “I don’t know, but he is deteriorating quickly.” No parent should ever have to hear those words. After multiple discussions with our care team here in Oklahoma, we were told on November 20th that it was time to call the Cleveland Clinic, where Mac was evaluated back in 2019. That same night, with the help of our incredible village, we uploaded every document, photo, test, and detail they needed. November 25th @ 12:45 p.m., Cleveland Clinic called and said, “We need you on a plane.” My heart dropped. There were so many moving parts that had to come together in an instant, and so much unknown still ahead. But tonight, we are simply grateful—to everyone who helped get us to the airport, and to our support system who has held us up through every moment of this whirlwind. November 26th Mac meets with the Cleveland team to hear their thoughts and learn the plan they are already working to build for him. This page is a place for our community—our village—to come together as Mac navigates the uncertainty ahead. Thank you for lifting us up.
