Gene’s PostOp Support

Story

As many of you know, our dad recently had a pacemaker placed, and while he’s doing well, the post-op recovery comes with some important restrictions—like not lifting his arm over his head, not driving, and ideally not being a human yo-yo between the floor and his recliner (yes, he did fall in the hospital—he’s okay, but it gave us a good scare). We (Allison and Ellen) both have trips taking us out of town for a little while, and would feel so much more at peace knowing he’s got some extra sets of eyes, hands, and friendly faces checking in on him. He’s got some mobility issues and a healthy dose of stubbornness (you know the type), so even if he says “I’m fine,” we’d love if you could step in to help anyway. Things that might be helpful: • Daily or every-other-day check-ins (quick visits or calls) • Help with meals or grocery drop-offs • Light tidying or errands • Encouragement to actually follow the doctor’s orders and not do something he thinks he “probably can still do” More than anything, we just want to ensure he’s safe, supported, and doesn’t feel alone while we’re away. Thank you for being part of his village—and for helping us worry a little less while we’re on the other side of the world. ❤️ With love and gratitude, Allison and Ellen
