Let's show our support for the Earley family of Lincoln Elementary as Lex prepares for the next steps of her breast cancer journey. Lex is wife to Tim, mom to Liam in second grade at Lincoln, and mom to Charlotte who is 1.5. From Lex's Facebook update on Nov 12, 2022: "I have been getting quite a few texts and calls asking how things are and what’s next, so here we go. I have successfully ended chemo. I had my last round on November 7th—My body endured 16 rounds of fucking chemo! My body is AMAZING! But with all the gratitude and amazing-ness, I really needed to take some time to process before I jumped on here to tell you all what’s going to happen over the course of the next year. I will have my initial surgery on December 12th, this is to remove the original mass and any lymph nodes and to put a filler in until I’ve finished radiation as it poses it’s own risks with breast reconstruction. After my initial surgery, I will start radiation for 5-6 weeks, 5x a week. Once radiation is complete, I will go in for breast reconstruction (9-12 months later) and then I’ll need to have a hysterectomy. I have been full of fear regarding this surgery and part of me was angry and even a little resistant. But then, as I sat with it and let it be known to my body that this will be taking place, because it has to, in order to live a healthy and beautiful life, the anger and resistance settled. I do not know what the future holds, but I know while I can, I’ll do everything in my power to fight like hell for this wildly, beautiful life."
