Alex Torres (13yo Hit by Car in ICU)

Story

On Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at approximately 2:50 p.m., a 13-year-old student from Holt Junior High was struck by a vehicle while walking home near Aurelius Road and Wilcox Road after his first day back at school. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries including a pelvic fracture, nose fracture, and a small brain bleed; thankfully, he is now admitted to the pediatric ICU and is expected to survive. The driver, a 46-year-old Okemos woman, remains under investigation, and there is no confirmation at this time of any criminal charges. This terrifying incident has cast a shadow over an occasion meant for fresh beginnings—and now, the path ahead for my nephew and my family is one of recovery, hope, and unwavering support. I appreciate you all.

Special Notes

Meal donations from local businesses would be a gift of comfort and care during this challenging time. Perhaps a rotating schedule of dinner drop-offs or gift cards for home-delivered meals could offer practical relief and a nourishing boost. Would you like help identifying businesses in Holt, Michigan, that could participate? I can compile a list of community-minded restaurants, caterers, or meal-delivery services ready to offer support. There are no dietary restrictions.
