Story

In the middle of an unexpected cancer diagnosis and weeks in the hospital, the Borjon family is holding tightly to their faith—and now, we have the opportunity to hold them up. Family and friends are coming together to support the Borjon family during this deeply challenging and unexpected season. Their past month has felt unreal. What began as a routine doctor’s visit quickly turned serious. After being sent home, Dave’s condition worsened just two days later. After much prayer, Eliza took him to the ER—never imagining he would soon be admitted into the ICU. From there, the journey has been intense: nearly a week in the hospital, a transfer by ambulance to Hanford for five days, and another week at Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno. Through it all, God has been present. “We have leaned heavily on Jesus,” Eliza shares, “and we’ve been carried by the love and support of family, friends, and our Spirit and faith family.” There have had moments of fear and heartbreak. Dave has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, where medical timelines were shared. It’s difficult to even process—but through it all, one truth continues to rise: trust in the report of the Lord. Just days ago, Dave and Eliza were supporting others across the Valley. Today, that same community is lifting them up—reminding them of the deep relationships built over years of ministry and service, from Bakersfield to Fresno and beyond. Dave has spent his life telling stories that matter—through journalism, ministry, and media—He has been a journalist across the Central Valley, serving in Bakersfield at The Californian , Channels 29, 17, and in Fresno at Channel 30—to his work capturing powerful testimonies and directing services at Visalia First. He’s helped share stories for missionaries in Moldova and loves teaching his craft. Dave has always loved being behind the camera, telling stories that change lives and draw people closer to Jesus. He most recently worked part-time at Home Depot, where he built new friendships, served others, and did what he loves most—listening to the stories God is writing in each person he met. Now, the Borjon family needs our support. From medical bills, to their son’s college tuition, your support with everyday living expenses will help ease the burden. It will allow their family to focus on being together, help their son finish his semester, and ensure Dave receives the best possible care. As they begin navigating this new reality, they are humbly asking for help. This is not easy—but they are trusting God and opening the door for His provision. We believe healing happens in the light—and healing happens together. Thank you for standing with the Borjon family in this difficult season. They are holding onto faith, taking one day at a time, and trusting in a God of miracles. Your prayers and support mean more than words can express. With Love, On Behalf of The Borjon Family David, Eliza & Isaiah
