August 21st, I was informed that the house I have rented for myself and my 2 rescue dogs is being sold and I need to move. My parents suggested buying, so we tried to get a home loan. After 7 weeks, I was told I was denied for the loan. We are working on a second loan that is sounding positive, but the closing date is tentatively Nov 26th and my move out date is Nov 21st. My dogs and I will be hotel-living for that gap time, which is expensive and stressful. People have been asking how to help, and gift cards is honestly the best way. UPDATE: Second home loan has gone through and approved. The sound that left my body when I got off that phone call…. However, the boys and I will still be hotel living for about a week. The hotel has breakfast, but no kitchenette or anything in my room. I will also be working as usual while living out of a hotel, with no way to prep food for my shifts.
I acknowledge that being able to buy a house is a level of privilege that many people do not have. I’m only posting this as people have asked how they can help, and this is the best way.
