Many of you know my sister, Dona, and the positive impact she has had on so many people throughout the years. Right now, she is facing a significant health challenge and having to undergo a major surgery. Dona has a large non-cancerous tumor that has grown to the point of causing serious health issues. Unexpectedly, she has needed three units of blood and an iron infusion due to complications related to this health issue. After further evaluation, her doctors determined that surgery could not wait and scheduled the procedure on an emergency basis. While we are grateful that a treatment plan is in place, the surgery itself is extensive, and recovery will take time. As many of you know, Dona has spent years bartending and connecting with people in our community. Because of the surgery and healing process, she will be unable to work for several weeks while she focuses on recovering. I created this page to help keep friends and family updated and to provide a place for those who would like to send encouragement messages and/or support during her recovery. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers, positive thoughts, and well wishes as she begins this journey back to good health. I know Dona has many friends whom I have not had the chance to meet personally. This will be the easiest way to share updates, and you are always welcome to send me a private message if needed. Thank you all for the love, support, and kindness you have already shown. It means so much to our family. — Kara
Once she is doing well enough for visitors, I will update the page.
