Hello! Paz is a transgender Latine MFA candidate in poetry at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Born and raised in the US American Southwest, they consider both Colorado and Nevada home. They will be undergoing top surgery on July 17th, 2026 in Las Vegas. Due to the surgery, Paz will not be able to work from the date of the surgery until the school semester begins at the end of August. We're raising funds to help cover costs including medical, school, and living expenses. Paz has been an active and integral member of the creative community in Colorado and Nevada. He's created spaces for writers and artists alike to come together to create and nurture relationships. Back in Colorado, they founded Id @ The Ethos, the free creative writing open mic. Since moving to Las Vegas, they've extended these skills to supporting Neon Lit, the reading series through their social media. Paz is an advocate for building comfortable, community-driven spaces for everyone and is asking for his community in supporting him to exist a body that feels best for him.
