Story
Thanks for visiting Lauren's Cancer Journey page! After many months of unexplained respiratory and gastrointestinal illness as well as increased pain and discomfort in her left hip, Lauren and her team of doctors discovered that what was initially thought to be pelvic structure abnormality turned out to be a large soft tissue mass. Fast forward several blood draws, imaging studies, a biopsy, and specialty consults later, and she has been diagnosed with a high-grade undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma in her abdomen. Lauren is now being followed by the University of Minnesota oncology team who specializes in sarcomas. While she is in great hands, she has a long road ahead and could use your support! She is still experiencing significant fatigue and weakness as well as nausea and vomiting at any instance of exerting herself. She will be beginning chemotherapy and will likely also have treatment including surgery and radiation along the way. Whether it be emotional support via a text/phone call/visit, logistical support via walking their dog Willow or dropping off groceries or a meal, or financial support to help alleviate the burden of medical bills, Lauren and her husband Nate are extremely grateful for anything anyone in her corner can offer. Lauren has always been strong-willed and independent, which makes asking for help challenging. But those around her can agree that she deserves all the love and support that she can possibly get. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Lauren during this unexpected and difficult journey!
