A Little Help While I Get Back on My Feet On August 6, I suffered an ankle injury at work that has significantly changed life for me and my family. After weeks of appointments, testing, and trying to navigate the recovery process, I'm now scheduled to have surgery on October 22, 2026. As a husband and father of three, I'm used to being active, working, and doing my part to keep our household running. This injury has made a lot of those everyday responsibilities more difficult, and surgery will bring another period of limited mobility and recovery. The injury has also affected my ability to work and created some financial challenges for our household. We're doing our best to navigate those changes while preparing for the weeks ahead. One thing I'm learning through all of this is that it's a lot easier to offer help than it is to accept it. But I also recognize that I don't have to do everything on my own. We're creating this page so that family, friends, and our community have a way to support us during my recovery. Whether that's providing a meal, helping with groceries, offering practical assistance, or simply keeping us in your prayers, it would mean a great deal to our family. Our immediate goal is to make sure my wife and our three children have some breathing room while I focus on healing and getting back on my feet. I'm grateful for everyone who has checked in, encouraged us, and offered support already. We're trusting God through this process, taking things one day at a time, and looking forward to getting back to some sense of normalcy. Thank you for being part of our village. — The Jefferson Family
One special date during my recovery is November 5th, when our youngest son, Arthur, turns 7! 🎉 With my surgery scheduled just two weeks before his birthday, I may not be able to do as much as I normally would to help celebrate. We still want to make sure Arthur has a wonderful birthday, so any help with a birthday meal, cake, or making his day a little extra special would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us keep things as normal and joyful as possible for our kids during this time!
