🍔 Burgers & Love for Dave 🚴♂️ If you know Dave, you know he has two great loves: 1 A really good burger. 2 A really long bike ride. (Preferably not at the same time.) Dave has recently transitioned into hospice care and with that, we are slowing things down and focusing on comfort, time together, and keeping life as simple as possible. Right now, the greatest gift you can give isn’t flowers or things -it’s ease. Our Biggest Need: Gift Cards The most helpful support right now is restaurant and food delivery gift cards, grocery gift cards, and financial support for the unexpected and unforeseen medical and comfort expenses. Gift cards are such a gift in this season. Hospice life has proven to run on unpredictable timing. Some days call for a cheeseburger at 2pm. Some nights call for fries at 8. Some days Dave hardly eats and some days he has very specific requests. Dave is not on a specific diet; we’re focusing on eating what he can when he can. Gift cards let us order what sounds good, when it sounds good — without extra planning, cooking, or grocery runs. They give us: • Flexible meals • Fewer errands • More time sitting beside Dave • Less stress in the kitchen • The ability to say “Yes, let’s get burgers”whenever the craving strikes Local restaurants, delivery apps, and grocery stores are all wonderful options. Favorites include: Culver's Wendy’s Qdoba Steak and Shake Coldstone Starbucks/Biggby (for Janell) Aldi Meijer Walgreens Walmart Visa 🍔 The Burger Standard Dave believes a burger should be: • Cooked right • Accompanied by laughter • And possibly an unnecessary side of fries We plan to honor that standard as often as possible. 🚴♂️ Riding This Hill Together Biking has always been freedom for Dave — fresh air, movement, and the reminder that the journey matters as much as the destination. Right now, we’re taking that same approach: one gentle mile at a time. Your support helps carry us up the hills and reminds us we’re not riding alone. ❤️ Most of All — Love Whether you’re sending a gift card, sharing a memory, or simply holding us in your thoughts and prayers — thank you. Dave has lived a life fueled by kindness, humor, stubborn determination, and probably more cheeseburgers and ice cream than his doctors would recommend. We’re grateful for every person who’s been part of his ride. With love (and extra fries), The Family
At this time, Dave is not accepting open visitors or calls. Please coordinate with Dani if wanting to call, text or reach out to Dave or Janell and we can make arrangements. Thank you for being mindful of these things during a vulnerable time.
