❤️ Supporting a Johnsburg Family In our community, we talk a lot about showing up for one another. Right now, we have an opportunity to do exactly that. A local 4th grade student in Johnsburg is preparing for a major heart surgery shortly after spring break. She was born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), a condition that affects the structure and function of the heart from birth. CHD is one of the most common birth defects, and while many children live full lives with treatment, it often requires ongoing care, monitoring, and in some cases, major surgical procedures like the one she is about to undergo. This upcoming surgery is significant, and her recovery will take time, strength, and support. If you know this family, you know this. They are not the type to ask for help. They show up for others, give back to the community, and quietly carry whatever is in front of them. In true fashion, you would never know they are walking into something this big. That is exactly why we are stepping in. As a community, we want to surround this family with support so they can focus on what matters most, their daughter’s health and recovery. 🙌 How You Can Help I have set up a page through Give InKind where you can easily support the family through gift card donations and other needs: https://www.giveinkind.com/inkinds/K5I0Z2F/-hopeforhocin Gift cards for groceries, gas, meals, and everyday essentials can go a long way in helping ease the burden during this time. No act of kindness is too small. 💛 Why This Matters This is about more than just a moment. It is about showing a family that they are not walking through this alone. They have given so much to this community without ever asking for recognition. Now it is our turn to give back and remind them just how much they mean to Johnsburg. Let’s rally around them with the same heart they have shown to so many others.
