Sam is a single mom to four beautiful babies. Malachi was born on November 21st, 2025. Malachi has CDH, a rare condition that occurs when the diaphragm – the muscle that separates the chest from the abdomen – fails to close during prenatal development. This allows abdominal organs (stomach, intestines, and/or liver) to move into the chest. They have spent 180 days in the NICU downstate. Sam is now home with all her babies, but she needs some help during this time as she adjusts to figuring out her new normal with Mal still being on oxygen and needing a bit of extra care, all while taking care of her other three children.
