Caring for Cody Meal Train

Ansonia, CT

Story

Cody's parents, Mike and Amy, have been quietly living every parent's nightmare since October 2024 when he was diagnosed with craniopharyngioma, a rare brain tumor that was growing on his pituitary gland and optical nerve. Despite an eight hour surgery, his doctors were unable to fully remove the tumor or the resulting cysts. This brave little guy appeared to have an excellent recovery, but a recent MRI revealed a recurrence of the cysts. With a second surgery being too risky, on March 31st Cody will commence radiation at Memorial Sloan-Kettering for six weeks to hopefully eradicate the cysts and the remaining tumor. This will require daily trips into New York so that they can be home every night with Cody's brother and allow the family to remain together. They have some long days ahead of them, and not having to worry about preparing meals would be a wonderful way to help them out. Any support, no matter how small --- whether it's a meal, gift card, or even a card of support to keep up their spirits -- would help ease the burden on their family and allow them to stay positive and focus on getting Cody healthy again for good.

Special Notes

Any meal that Amy doesn't have to worry about will be a blessing! Favorites are: pasta, meatballs, any kind of chicken, tacos, quesadillas. Other favorite meals often come from Jersey Mike's, Wendy's, Chic-Fil-A, Panera, Mac n Out, Texas Roadhouse, Wendy's and McDonald's. Dunkin gift cards would help with the early morning coffees while catching the train everyday! She generally shops for groceries at Target, ShopRite, Big Y, Walmart, BJ's. The kids will always be happy to have fruit snacks, apple Nutrigrain bars, Little Bites chocolate chip muffins, Little Bites brownies, Goldfish and Cheez-Its. Lastly, while Cody is the one fighting the toughest battle, it would be nice to remember his older brother Christopher as well. Perhaps if he were inundated with cards addressed specifically to him it would help him feel a little more special! Put a dinosaur or a shark on it, and he'll know it's just for him. They will also take all the prayers they can get.
