Sutura’s Circle of Strength — United, We’re Stronger Than Cancer If you know my story, you know I’ve spent much of the last decade reclaiming my life and freedom after a con man took my life savings and wrecked my home—all while running a private medical practice and seeing patients, spending every free moment between patient appointments power tools in hand, pearls still on. I became my own lawyer, general contractor, framer, a live in landlord, and full-time business owner and healthcare provider to make ends meet. I rebuilt 1040 sq ft of my home from the ground up, brick by brick as I did my life. I’d just finished, finally exhaled, and started planning my next chapter… and then, 3 weeks before my birthday, life threw me another curve ball: early-onset breast cancer. Where things stand: I’m cancer free! Partial mastectomy and radiation went well. Ring the bell! Now getting used to living on tamoxifen - a reoccurrence prevention medication I’ll have to take for a few years- and a slew of other meds I have to take to manage the side effects of tamoxifen- YAY me. Working part time trying to rebuild the practice, renting rooms and going hiking every chance I get. Working on making a book of my updates to help other women navigate the breast cancer journey. Due to it being a buyers real-estate market I’ve given up on selling my now newly rebuilt Street of Dreams house - where dreams were born and died and nightmares as well as epic success stories came to life all under the flutter of unassuming cherry blossom petals twirling in the wind- for now.
