We are organizing a meal train to support the Akemann family as they navigate an increasingly difficult time with Alex’s ALS. Providing a meal is one small way we can help ease the daily load and give the family more time together. Please consider signing up for a date that works for you. Gift cards for restaurants or meal delivery are also greatly appreciated. If you are preparing a meal, please keep in mind that ALS can cause dysphagia (difficulty swallowing). Soft, moist foods that are easy to swallow are especially appreciated. If possible, please avoid foods that are dry, tough, or require significant chewing.
