Ryan and Drisana Prestin are walking through something no family ever expects. Just a few weeks ago, they learned their baby girl has a rare tumor called SCT. Since then, life has shifted into hospital rooms, constant monitoring, and taking each day moment by moment. Right now, Drisana is in the hospital in critical early labor. Her care team at Brigham is working around the clock to safely keep their baby girl in as long as possible, giving her the best chance to grow stronger before delivery. The goal is to make it several more weeks, but this road is uncertain and requires immense strength, patience, and faith. Once their daughter arrives, she will need immediate, specialized care and surgery at Boston Children’s Hospital. Through it all, Ryan and Drisana have shown incredible resilience, love, and faith. As Ryan shared, watching Drisana fight for their daughter has revealed “a completely different level of strength” and “a completely different level of love.” This is going to be a long road filled with hospital stays, time away from home, and many unknowns. Right now, the best way to support the Prestin family is by helping ease the day-to-day burdens so they can focus entirely on Drisana and their baby girl. We are collecting donations to be sent via the PayPal attached to this account. If you’re not able to give, your prayers, love, and support mean just as much.
If you'd like to send flowers or something else please note that Drisana is at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology under Drisana Barna. Her room has been changing as her level of care needed changes so it may be smart to make a note of that one the delivery instructions. We will do our best to keep her most recent room number listed in the updates.
