Story
November 27th 2022 will forever be engraved in my mind. This would mark the beginning of a year and half long question mark about Isaiah's health. It all started with two Grand mal seizures. Little did we know that he had an underlying condition that he was actually born with, Grey matter heterotopia. At that time we were told that it was a life long seizure condition that could be managed with daily medication. We followed all doctors orders, however, he began to exhibit more symptoms that gradually got worse. Ranging from dizziness and blurry vision to loss of balance, coordination and cognitive thought processes. It was so difficult to watch my son progressively get worse and with no answers as to why he was deteriorating. Often times doctors seemed to not believe that he was experiencing all these symptoms. We were so very discouraged in the Healthcare system until more recently. His neurologist took matters in her own hands. Over spring break she ordered a brain MRI with contrast to try and find a cause to all of Isaiah's symptoms and rapid decline. She called us urgently after reviewing results with entire team of doctors and specialists and determined that Isaiah has Multiple Sclerosis. The team did not waste any time and promptly had Isaiah admitted into Lucille Packard Children's hospital for immediate testing and treatment. Upon further testing it showed that he had multiple leasions on his brain and spine. Isaiah was then sent to surgery to have a Hickman catheter placed so that he could receive plasma and blood infusions. He is receiving treatments daily. As of now, we have no definitive date as to how long he will need to remain in the hospital. As you can imagine living in the hospital is very exhausting and very expensive. For all our friends and family that have been asking how they can help or contribute to our journey, this is how. I want to thank each and every one of you for supporting Isaiah in this life long journey. And we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any contributions. With much love, Isaiah and Lillian 🩵 #multiplesclerosiswarrior
